Digital Marketing for Trades — Australia-wide

The work that starts after the site goes live.

A website is a shopfront. Digital marketing is everything that walks people past it. For a trade business that mostly comes down to two things: putting the work you have already done in front of people who are not searching yet, and paying for attention when you need it faster than SEO can deliver it.

The Three Levers

Slow and free, fast and paid, or the list you already have.

Organic: Social And Content

Before-and-after photos, a thirty-second clip from a job site, a profile that matches your website. Slow to compound and free to run, and still the most convincing proof you own. This is where most trades get the best return for the least money.

Paid: Ads When You Need Volume Now

Search ads put you at the top tomorrow instead of in six months. They also stop the day you stop paying, which makes them a tool rather than a strategy. Genuinely useful for a new business, a quiet month, or one service you want to push hard.

The Bit Everyone Forgets: Your Past Customers

People you have already done work for are the cheapest jobs you will ever win. A reminder that a service is due, or a note that you now do something you did not before, beats almost any ad spend — and costs close to nothing.

Where To Start

Most trades should start with one of these, not all three.

The honest answer for a sole trader with a new website is: get the site converting, get the Google Business Profile active, then start posting the work. Ads come later, when there is margin to spend and a site worth sending paid traffic to.

We would rather set you up on the one channel you will actually keep doing than sell you a package with four channels you will quietly abandon by the end of the month. Marketing that stops after six weeks is worse than marketing you never started, because you have paid for the setup and kept none of the compounding.

If you are not sure which lever applies to you, that is a five-minute conversation, not a proposal. Tell us what your last ten jobs came from and the answer is usually obvious.

Why It Works For Trades

Nobody argues with a photo of the finished job.

Before And After Beats Everything

A drain cleared, a switchboard tidied, a dead lawn brought back. It needs no caption and no clever idea. It does what a written testimonial does, faster, and it is impossible to fake convincingly.

Local Reach, Not Follower Counts

Ten thousand followers in another state are worth nothing to you. Two hundred people inside your service area who have seen your work three times are worth a great deal. We optimise for the second thing, which means the numbers look less impressive and the phone rings more.

Profiles That Match The Website

Same logo, same phone number, same service list, same suburbs. Details that disagree across your profiles confuse customers and quietly weaken the local search signals your SEO depends on.

How We Run It

A system you will actually keep up.

It starts with the profiles: Instagram and Facebook set up or cleaned up properly — bio, contact buttons, service area, a working link to the site, and the same details as everywhere else you appear online.

Then a shooting habit that survives a work day. One wide shot before you start. One from the same spot when you finish. Hold the phone still for six seconds instead of waving it around. That is the whole discipline, and it takes less time than writing the invoice.

Then posting: either a routine you can run from the ute in five minutes, or we take the photos you send and handle the editing, captions and schedule. Two posts a week sustained for a year beats daily posting that dies in March. We would genuinely rather you did less and kept going.

What we will talk you out of: buying followers, posting stock photos of somebody else's work, and running a competition to inflate a number that will never call you. A trade account with three hundred real local followers and a year of finished jobs behind it is worth more than one with ten thousand strangers, because the only metric that matters here is whether the person deciding between you and two other quotes has already seen what you do.

What About Google Ads?

What about Google Ads

We build ad-ready websites: proper conversion tracking, landing pages that load fast, and forms that actually fire an event when someone submits them. Campaign management itself we take on case by case, and we will tell you plainly when your budget is better spent somewhere else — which, for a business with a slow site or an empty Google profile, it usually is. Ask when you get in touch.

Common Questions

Straight answers, no fine print.

What is the difference between this and SEO?

SEO gets you found by people who are already searching for your trade. Digital marketing puts you in front of people who were not searching yet. They solve different problems, and for most trades SEO is the one to get working first.

Do I need any of this if I am already busy?

Probably not right now, and we will say so. The time to start is when the pipeline is comfortable, not when it has dried up — because everything here takes weeks to build momentum. Starting marketing in a panic is how people end up paying for ads they cannot sustain.

How much should a tradie spend on marketing?

Less than most agencies will tell you. If you have a website that converts and a Google profile that is active, social media costs you time rather than money and will carry you a long way. Paid ads only make sense once those two are working and you want volume faster.

Can you just run all of it for me?

Some of it. Social content and posting, yes. Ad campaigns, case by case. What nobody can outsource is the raw material — the photos from your jobs and the honest detail about what you do. That part has to come from you.

Which platform should a tradie be on?

Usually Instagram and Facebook, and usually the same content on both. Instagram is where before-and-after work performs best. Facebook is where the local community groups live, which is still where a lot of trade referrals actually happen. Skip everything else until those two are running properly.

Do I have to be on camera?

No. The work is the content. Plenty of trade accounts do well with nothing but job footage and a caption. If you are comfortable on camera it does help, because people hire people — but it is not a requirement and we will not push you into it.

Does social media actually bring in work for a tradie?

Not the way ads do, and not immediately. What it does is shorten the trust gap. Someone who has already seen three of your finished jobs is a much easier quote to win, and far less likely to be ringing two competitors at the same time.

Can you run the accounts for me?

Yes. You send photos from the job, we handle editing, captions and the posting schedule. It works best as a partnership, because nobody else can photograph your work for you. See the rest of what we offer under digital marketing.

Not sure which one you actually need?

Tell us where your last ten jobs came from and we will tell you where the eleventh is most likely to come from.
